Life According to Ivy: Lessons from a Dog
Do dogs have souls? Do they understand us and is there anything of value that we can learn from them? Will they go to heaven? Everyone who has had a dog would wish it were so. For many their dog was a part of the family like any other member. And what about other non-human creation like the earth and seas and skies, can they speak and if so what are they saying to us?
This little book is in two parts. Part 1 is an attempt to move us away from an anthropocentric view of the universe to a more anthropomorphic view of creation by showing from scripture that God regards nonhuman creation as alive, in relationship with him, and vitally connected to human purpose and destiny.
Part 2 focuses on Ivy, our late Pomeranian, and what her “voice” has communicated to me over the years. I hope that you will glean something of value from this brief study and that your ears will be opened to hearing the voices that come from all of God’s creation for they have much to teach us about how we can co-exist in peace and harmony and experience universal blessedness.
