How to Get What you Want
We all have needs, wants, and desires. But many believers today are confused over whether or not it is scriptural or even spiritual to seek God for the satisfaction of things beyond our basic needs. On one hand we have no problem believing that a good and merciful God would gladly answer prayers to meet our needs. But our wants? Our desires? Is that not asking too much? Is it not stepping into the dreaded territory of greed and carnality?
In How to Get What You Want, the author employs the magnanimous acts of King Solomon towards the Queen of Sheba when she visited him as a vehicle to explain that it is God’s intention to bless his children with a full and abundantly satisfying life. He outlines the conditions that we must meet if we are to secure not just the things we need, but yes, even those things we dream about, the things we desire even if they might not be deemed necessary for a happy life.
