Keys to Breakthrough Prayers
Everyone believes there is something good about prayer. We have even codified our conviction about prayer in a maxim seen in many homes: Prayer changes things. Unfortunately, the modern church seems to have a change of heart concerning the effectiveness of prayer. Like Bible studies, prayer meetings, have also gone the way of the dinosaurs, reduced to fossils, mostly automatic responses to threat, trouble, and trepidation. And a significant explanation given for the decline in interest and neglect of this vital religious duty is heaven’s unresponsiveness.
But why would heaven remain silent when the mandate to pray comes from the throne room of God? Why would Jesus tell us that God will give us whatever we ask for in his name when our experience proves otherwise? Is Jesus a liar, or we are missing some vital ingredients for effective and rewarding prayers?
I have chosen to take the latter position. God wants us to pray because prayer is vital to the realization of kingdom purposes and, by extension, to our well-being. The challenge we experience with heaven’s silence to our prayers has to do with us not following the rules. Like every endeavor, prayer has rules that must be observed if we are to obtain our desired outcomes. This book aims to unveil those rules or keys for breakthrough prayers.
