Run For Your Life: An Exposition on the Cities of Refuge – Numbers 35
What would you do if you accidentally killed someone and knew that the family of the deceased would be on your trail to seek vengeance? What would you do if you knew there was an appointed place of refuge that would secure your safety? It is reasonable to say you would run for your life to that appointed place of safety.
In Run For Your Life, pastor Rupnarain shows how in the divine economy a death sentence has been passed by God upon the sinner for his or her transgression, and the sinner, like a fugitive, is on the run for his life. His only hope for safety from the divine Avenger and ultimate judgment is to find the appointed refuge.
Using the cities of refuge set up in the days of Moses as a type of Christ he shows how the only refuge from sin that the divine Avenger recognizes and to whom he will stay the sentence of eternal death is Jesus Christ. Regardless of the nature of the transgression the sinner will find asylum and sanctuary once they find and remain in Christ.
