Fight for Your Destiny

Jacob won the fight for his destiny. God changed his name that fateful night at Jabbok from Jacob to Israel, from Deceiver to Prince, because he persevered with God and prevailed. Today, every time we hear the name Israel we are reminded that it is possible to turn our life around, no matter at what stage in life we are. God loves a good scrap and if we are willing to fight for our destiny we are assured that we too can prevail. God did not give Jacob what he did not deserve. He gave him what was his in the first place but which he had bartered away by living according to the world’s expectation of him.
