The Spirits of Le Resouvenir: Tales from the Diaspora, Volume 4
The Spirits of Le Resouvenir is the fourth in the series of short stories from Richard Rupnarain. As with the other volumes, the stories are based on the author’s life experiences both in Guyana and in the Guyanese Diaspora overseas. The main story from which the book’s name is taken is a historical piece on events leading up to the Demerara Rebellion of 1823 in which many slaves were killed and Rev. John Smith was condemned to death for his involvement.
In this volume the author has included a Glossary of Local Dialect to enhance appreciation of the material.
